Knafs Lander 2

Written by

Knafs is a unique and innovative company that has carved out its niche in the knife industry by doing things differently. Their ability to create practical yet customizable tools has earned them a loyal following. Among their standout models, the Lander 2 is, in my opinion, the most refined of the series. It perfectly balances materials, size, and ease of use, making it an exceptional everyday carry (EDC) option. Let’s dive deeper into what makes the Lander 2 shine.

Customization and Ergonomics

I opted for the G10 handles, which hit that ideal balance between grip and comfort—providing secure handling for day-to-day activities while being gentle on your pockets. What’s remarkable about the Lander 2 is the high level of customization it offers. From handle scales to thumb studs, pocket clips, and even a rebuild kit, you can make this knife uniquely yours. The design simplicity extends to ergonomics. Its gentle curve fits naturally in the hand, offering comfort and usability without overcomplicating things.

Clutch Lock and Aesthetics

The Clutch Lock, a variation of the cross-bar lock, is as simple and effective as ever. Its widespread adoption is a testament to its reliability and ease of use, fitting seamlessly into the Lander 2’s straightforward design. I also appreciate the contrast of the black hardware against the blue G10—it’s a small detail that adds a lot of visual appeal.

Blade and Performance

The blade is a 3.25-inch drop point made from S35VN steel, a noticeable upgrade in performance and durability compared to its predecessor. With a flat grind and precise tip the blade is versatile enough for precision tasks and utility work. Whether you’re slicing through food or breaking down Amazon boxes, the Lander 2 does a great job. S35VN might not be a dramatic leap from S30VN, but its incremental improvements in edge retention and toughness are noticeable. The knife deploys smoothly via thumb studs or the Clutch Lock, offering reliable one-handed operation.

Pocket Clip and Everyday Carry

The deep-carry pocket clip is a highlight for me. It ensures the knife stays securely in your pocket without sticking out, and it minimizes hot spots during use—a feature I’ve come to appreciate after trying so many clip designs.

Final Thoughts

The Knafs Lander 2 epitomizes what an EDC knife should be: simple, functional, and reliable. It’s a joy to use and customize, and it tackles everyday tasks with ease. While the Lander 3 caters to those who prefer a more compact option, the Lander 2 hits the sweet spot for me. Knafs is redefining what’s possible in the knife industry, proving that innovation and accessibility can go hand in hand.
