1791 Belt and Easy Slide Holster Featured

Written by

Finding the right way to carry your gear can be a challenge, especially when balancing comfort, accessibility, and durability. There are plenty of leather and Kydex solutions out there, but when I come across a company that’s making quality products at a reasonable price—especially one that’s local—I like to take a closer look. Enter 1791 Leather, a Miami-based company producing high-quality leather holsters, EDC organizers, and outdoor accessories. I got my hands on their Heavy-Duty Leather Belt and Easy Slide EDC Holster, and after some time using them, here’s what I think.

Heavy-Duty Leather Belt

A solid belt is the foundation of carrying any kind of gear, whether it’s a multitool, firearm, or just everyday essentials. 1791’s Heavy-Duty Belt is made from thick, American-sourced steerhide and reinforced with a steel buckle and Chicago screws. Right away, I could tell this thing was built for the long haul.

The edges are rounded and sealed properly, giving it a clean, polished finish while still looking rugged. Despite the thickness, it isn’t overly stiff—there’s a good balance of structure and flexibility, which makes it comfortable to wear all day. The leather molds to your body over time, which is exactly what I look for in a belt.

One thing to note: this belt is thicker than your standard leather belt. That’s great for durability, but it does pose some minor compatibility issues. My phone holster and a few work accessories wouldn’t close completely around it, which is something to keep in mind if you rely on clip-on gear. That said, the trade-off is worth it for me. A thicker belt means better support for carrying heavier items, and I’d rather have something built to last than a flimsy belt that stretches out or falls apart over time.

I also accidentally got a size too long, but honestly, I don’t mind. It’s better to have extra length than not enough, and adjusting it down is simple enough if needed.

Easy Slide EDC Holster

If you’re carrying a multitool, flashlight, or other daily essentials, having a good holster keeps everything organized and easily accessible. The Easy Slide is a minimalist, no-fuss option that attaches to your belt and holds your gear securely. Unlike some holsters that use snaps or clips, this one relies on a simple slide-on design, keeping it snug against your body without extra bulk.

The leather, much like the belt, is thick and stiff out of the box—but that’s expected with high-quality leather. After some break-in time, it softened up nicely and flexes just enough without losing structure. The pockets and loops have a good amount of tension, keeping tools in place without worrying about anything slipping out.

One of my favorite features is the third belt loop in the back. It helps keep everything from shifting around or bunching up when worn, which is a small but smart design choice. There’s also a split ring for attaching a carabiner—not something I personally use much, but it’s a nice option to have.

Final Thoughts

Both the Heavy-Duty Belt and Easy Slide Holster live up to 1791’s reputation for quality leather goods. The belt is solid, durable, and comfortable for long-term wear, while the holster offers a simple yet effective way to keep EDC essentials within reach. The belt’s thickness may cause compatibility issues with some accessories, but in exchange, you get a product that will outlast most standard belts.

If you’re in the market for high-quality leather gear that’s built to last, 1791 Leather is definitely worth checking out.
