GDPR and Us

Written by

Lately you’ve probably gotten dozens of emails to update the privacy policies of various websites so that they comply with the new General Date Protection Regulations (GDPR) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Data_Protection_Regulation that everyone needs to comply with. We aren’t sending an email like that, nor am I asking you to agree to a new policy- and here’s why.

First off, if you are reading this BLOG post, I don’t actually have any of your information, so we here at Multitool.org don’t have to worry about complying.

Our forum does take some information from you- an email and username, which may or may not be your real name. Even I used a username in the early days, and only switched to using my real name on the forum after we started doing business outside of the membership. Usernames are just as welcome as your real names here- the important part is, that I will not willingly share your information with anyone, and even if I did, there’s really not much there to share.

Registry in The Multtiool.org Store does require a little bit more info, for obvious reasons. After all, I need to know where to send the things that you want, and because I have that info I want to reiterate how important that is to us here. Your info is absolutely private, and the only people that have access to it are myself and our site tech Micah, aka Whoey on our forum. I have known Micah for over 25 years, and I trust him in that time with a lot more than data.

However, as most of the information shared with The Multitool.org Store comes from Paypal, I have really put the onus on them for protecting your information, and that’s a good thing because they have the budget for the absolute best security people and encryption software, so, while our best intentions could potentially be defeated, theirs is a lot more challenging.

In short, we won’t be changing our privacy policy to protect your info, as it is already as protected as we can possibly make it, and we will always strive to make it better, regardless of what decrees are handed down from on high.  If you want to discuss it or have any questions, we have a thread going on our forum that you are welcome to go through, or you can email me directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
